Modern Day Prince of Egypt
Abandoned at the hospital, weighing a mere one pound five ounces, the doctors thought he would not last the week.
But Cole was a fighter. Doctors and nurses would comment that there was something special about this little warrior that gave them hope.
Soon his health began to improve and at five months old, Cole was released from the hospital to a new family. "We were blessed to bring this little prince into our family." Cole's mother Charise continued, "This beautiful new addition to our family had olive skin and dark curls. Cole’s heritage was a puzzle to us. One week we were sure he had Asian ancestry then the next we were sure he was a pacific islander. With adoption, it is assumed that you will know very little about the child’s genealogy, but we still wanted to know something… anything… about Cole’s heritage."
Charise found out about a DNA test available at GeneTree that could tell about Cole's ancient heritage. "From the first time we logged in to see Cole’s results we were amazed. Using DNA Navigator we were led to family connections in parts of the US, Europe, and Egypt! We found out just how wrong we have been for all these years. We never dreamed he might have heritage in Egypt."
Although Cole's royal ancestry has yet to be documented, Charise and Bill say they know from his fighting spirit that he descends from the great Egyptian kings of ancient times.
